NPSL Founders Cup Relaunched As NPSL Members Cup
Napa Valley 1839 FC will play 10 regular-season games into October
Napa Valley 1839 FC announced today the schedule for Members Cup, which was previously named Founders Cup.
The NPSL Members Cup will be governed by United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and brought into the NPSL corporate structure, managed by NPSL staff with NPSL member participants. The NPSL Founders Cup name will no longer be used.
The confirmed participants are Chattanooga FC, Detroit City FC, Michigan Stars FC, Milwaukee Torrent, Napa Valley 1839 FC, and New York Cosmos.
The competition for the club will still begin on the road on August 10 against Milwaukee Torrent at Hart Park. The home opener also stays the same and will be on August 24 against Detroit City FC at Justin Siena Dodd Stadium.
During the inaugural Members Cup, the club will play 10 games in a regular season, facing each team home and away. All home games will be at 7 p.m. at Justin Siena Dodd Stadium.
“We are excited to host great teams like Cosmos, Detroit City, Chattanooga, Torrent and the Stars in the Members Cup,” Napa Valley 1839 FC Owner Arik Housley said. “Our players are beside themselves with the thought of traveling all over the country to showcase their skills and represent our Valley and our team”. He continued, “Napa Valley is known for its food and wine, but we are intending to be known for our soccer at the end of the members cup.”
